Translations, an international online solo painting exhibition by Nix Calma (they/them) opens on October 01, and will continue for two months until November 30, 2023.

Nix Calma's (they/them) are is inspired by abstract expressionist painters such as Jose Joya, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, and Franz Kline, among others. A radical political perspective informs their work, which is anti-transphobic/queerphobic, anti-fatphobic, anti-police, anti-ableist, anti-TERF, and anti-SWERF. In their creative process, aesthetic expectations are put aside in favor of psychic automatism. Their aim is to direct their inner impulses onto a canvas by accessing material from the unconscious mind.
