Oksana Tanasiv Gallery presents its October guest:

Conversations with Miggs Burroughs and Oksana Tanasiv

October 21 - October 25

Opening reception Saturday, October 23 from 6pm to 9 pm.

Emerging curator Natasha Kuranko has selected work by Miggs Burroughs to be on view alongside the internationally-recognized Oksana Tanasiv's Code U series. The exhibition will be open to the public from October 22 through October 25. A public opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 23, from 6pm to 9pm and will include a moderated conversation between the two artists. The gallery will be serving alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic beverages, and lite-fare.

Interested collectors may call the curator (203.803.8527) to arrange a private preview Thursday, October 21, to reserve their purchases.

Oksana Tanasiv Gallery is located at 70 South Main Street, in the heart of SoNo, CT. The gallery is easily accessible by Metro-North and is only a 10-minute walk from the South Norwalk train station. For those traveling by car, metered street parking is available paid by credit-card or coins. Parking may also be purchased at the Haviland St and SoNo Square lot, located approximately a 5-minute walk from the gallery.

Miggs Burroughs is a 1967 graduate of the Carnegie Tech Drama Dept. in Pittsburgh (now Carnegie Mellon University). His short-lived career in the theater began with an audition for "The Graduate." It ended when an actor of questionable talent, named Dustin Hoffman, was selected instead for the part of Benjamin.

Since then, Miggs has transitioned to working full-time as a graphic designer and fine art photographer. He has created award-winning posters for Save The Children, The American Red Cross, and Baskin-Robbins. These are among his more celebrated work, along with the Westport Town Flag and an Easter Egg for Reagan's White House, which now resides in the Smithsonian. His work can be found on postage stamps, covers of TIME Magazine, public works projects, and permanent collections throughout Connecticut.

Currently, he is one of only a dozen US-based artists working in the cutting-edge medium of lenticular imagery. He is a member of the Silvermine Arts Guild and Westport Arts Center. Over the years he has been represented by and exhibited with Southport Galleries and #1 Main Street Gallery in Fairfield County, EBK Gallery in Hartford, Monika Olko Gallery in Sag Harbor, Gallery 286 in London, and Everiss Gallery in Schattenhalb, Switzerland. Miggs Burroughs has a 30 piece permanent installation at the Burke Rehabilitation Center in White Plains and is scheduled to exhibit at the NYC United Nations upon re-opening in 2022.

Oksana Tanasiv is a prolific artist whose work can be found in private collections worldwide. Her experience as a multinational, Ukrainian-born, American artist and former career as a model has gifted her with a unique perspective inspiring her work to speak upon issues diverse as economics, spirituality, fashion, celebrity, and beauty. Tanasiv demonstrates communicative strength in realism, surrealism, abstract, and pop art throughout her many collections. She can be found experimenting with a variety of techniques and media. Her most recent series, Code U, utilizes layers of epoxy and collage with interactive LED lights to convey her message of eternity and the profound joy of life.

Oksana Tanasiv has been a featured artist at NYC Fashion Week every season since 2012. She is an active participant in national and international art fairs. Recent gallery exhibitions include Aqua Art Miami 2019, Market Art+Desig Haptom 2018, ArtExpo NYC, Flat Space Art in London, and Le Soleil Gallery in Vancouver, Canada.

In 2020, Oksana opened her new gallery located in the heart of SoNo, Connecticut. She hopes to use this space to create a flourishing community of Tri-State Area artists and collectors. Currently Oksana is represented by Katarina Zavodszka Gallery and Big Art Now in Palm Beach along with Art Central Galleria in NYC. Her work has been sold both internationally and throughout the United States.
