The Contemporary Art Modern Project is excited to welcome February with three new exhibitions running simultaneously from February 7th-28th.

Taking over our incubator space is the work of artist Thomas Donaldson in (In)corporeal, an exhibition that questions the relationship between the human body and our perception of it. Through the intimacy of the space and the subtle obstruction of the forms painted by Donaldson the exhibition invites the viewer to explore the tension between presence and absence, familiarity and estrangement. Donaldson’s work delves into the tension between familiarity and abstraction, challenging us to reconsider how we attempt to rationalize each other’s physical matter with their inner spirituality, and honoring the uncertainty that comes with this separation. We are reminded of the existentialist notion that we can never fully know or experience another person’s reality.

(In)corporeal is available for viewing in our North Miami gallery at 791-793 NE 125th St. from February 7–28 2025.

Curated by Sofia Witos.

The CAMP Gallery is open Tuesday–Saturday, 12 to 5 PM.

The Contemporary Art Modern Project (The CAMP Gallery)

The Contemporary Art Modern Project Gallery specializes is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to raising awareness for emerging and mid-career artists with a unique emphasis on ultra-contemporary approaches to textiles and fiber art. Founded during the height of the pandemic by Melanie Prapopoulos, the gallery has gone on to create a distinctly academic and thought-provoking arts program in North Miami, and beyond. As a gallery, The CAMP remains steadfast in transparency both for the artist and for the collector, building bridges and connections from creation to acquisition. With a robust local and international roster, the gallery represents artists working in textiles and fiber, painting, photography, sculpture, and installation. Looking at art, as a whole, through a reactionary and interdisciplinary approach, the gallery operates as a space wherein creativity and reality co-exist.
