Layers of Reality is an exhibition that brings together artists who have studied at the Faculty of Arts and Design (UVT), Timișoara, and the School of Visual Art, New York. The exhibition features artworks that use unconventional materials and cutting-edge technologies to create stories about personal and universal themes and experiences. Through these artworks, the artists explore the core aspects of our human condition and reveal the beauty and complexity of technological imagery. The creative processes behind these artworks have led to new forms and functions, and new ways of engaging with reality.
The exhibition invites the audience to experience the multi-layered nature of reality and to discover it gradually and consciously. Some of the artworks go beyond the digital realm and encourage us to touch and feel them. This tactile interaction is a powerful reminder that the future depends on maintaining a harmonious and respectful connection between the natural world and the human touch. By using our own bodies to interact with these artifacts, we convey a message. We suggest that we should slow down our lives, build meaningful relationships with each other, and embrace nature as a vital part of our existence.
Layers of Reality is not a blind celebration, but rather a critical reflection on the evolving relationship between creativity and technological progress.
