INVITATIONAL

JANUARY 4 – 28

FIRST FRIDAY RECEPTION JAN 5, 5-8pm

The artists in Partners Gallery Invitational show in January are inspired by graphic design, the comics, graffiti art, and iconic characters.  Their art tells stories of romance, of loss and sadness, of the mystery ride of life. The sweet sad being in some of Deth P. Sun's narratives and the twisted comic book heroes and villains in the work of Benny Bones and Donovan Clark take us gently or forcefully into other realms.   Sharon Bowers' graphic memoirs and stories are charming and funny, and Jacob Hewko's drawings and paintings capture the dark essence of our natural and unnatural world through portraits of people and animals.

Bones' murals can be seen on store windows and building walls all around Fort Bragg,  Hewko continues to expand his art forms to include printmaking, life drawing, tattoos, and calligraphy.  Bowers is in the process of publishing her second graphic memoir.  Sun shows his drawings and paintings in cities around the country, and Clark is an art teacher

in the Bay Area who draws on dollar bills.

Partners Gallery is located at 335 N. Franklin Street in Fort Bragg and is open Wednesday through Monday 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays 10 am to 4 pm.  707 962-0233; partners@mcn.org; www.partnersgallery.com
