Watercolor painter Yvonne Newhouse brings attention to some of nature’s hidden treasures in a solo exhibit at the Peninsula Art Institute. The exhibit will be on view June 26 to July 27, 2014 with a reception Sunday, June 29, 1- 4 pm.

An avid hiker both on Bay Area trails and in the Sierra Nevada backcountry, Yvonne has witnessed and recorded many vistas of infinite beauty, interpreting them using transparent watercolor. A native of the prairies of Saskatchewan, Canada she is in awe of the stature and grandness of mountains and mountain meadows that host the wild flowers of California. She paints local flowers and gardens with the same sense of adventure.

About the Peninsula Art Institute (PAI)

Grand opening day for PAI was March 16, 2013. PAI is home to more than 25 resident visual artists and is located on the San Francisco Peninsula.  Its mission is to: Provide a supportive working environment for creative professionals in the visual arts and a cultural resource for the community.
