Peninsula Art Institute (PAI) presents "Hidden Treasures in Full View – Flowers and Landscapes" by Yvonne Newhouse
Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty. – John Ruskin.
Watercolor painter Yvonne Newhouse brings attention to some of nature’s hidden treasures in a solo exhibit at the Peninsula Art Institute. The exhibit will be on view June 26 to July 27, 2014 with a reception Sunday, June 29, 1- 4 pm.
An avid hiker both on Bay Area trails and in the Sierra Nevada backcountry, Yvonne has witnessed and recorded many vistas of infinite beauty, interpreting them using transparent watercolor. A native of the prairies of Saskatchewan, Canada she is in awe of the stature and grandness of mountains and mountain meadows that host the wild flowers of California. She paints local flowers and gardens with the same sense of adventure.
