unCONTAINED

unCONTAINED brings together work from artists on the Developing Art Practice (DAP) course at City Lit in response to the brief “Beyond the White Cubes”. The brief invites artists to use one of the fixed white cubes in the gallery to communicate their creative practice. This small white cube embodies many interpretations, from a simple white hollow cube to the context of the ‘White Cube’ as the prevailing gallery construct and aesthetic. Here in unCONTAINED, these DAP 23/24 artists explore this versatile concept of the white cube in a playful and serious manner using their favoured themes and materials, while integrating or disintegrating the famous white cube.
